Pan-Arctic Options Participant: Paul Berkman
On February 11th-15th, a delegation of scholars from International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) attended the AAAS conference in Washington D.C. The conference focused on how scientific enterprise can meet global challenges in need of innovation and international collaboration. On the day prior the start of the conference, IIASA and AAAS co-hosted a symposium on “International Scientific Cooperation for Global Sustainability.”
Paul Berkman attended with the IIASA delegation as a representative of the Arctic Futures Initiative. He spoke on the first of the three themes for the day: “Arctic Changes, Arctic Visions: Informing policies for the Arctic future we want.”
